Jetragon portrait — Palworld 1.0 launch

Palworld is officially out of Early Access. Update 1.100.427 landed on July 10, 2026, and it changes progression, the map, Pal systems, combat, and base life more than any patch before it. We read the full Steam changelog so you do not have to sit through 10,000 words.

Quick summary

  • 72 new Pals (47 new species plus 25 variants).
  • Two big new regions: floating Sunreach and story-focused World Tree.
  • New systems: Awakening with Radiant Gems, plus Mutation breeding.
  • Level cap goes from 65 to 80. Tower fights now have a 5-minute limit.
  • Combat refresh: dash-dodge, six weapon slots, 13 new weapons.
  • Base raids are wave-based now. Work suitability scales to 10 tiers.

Release snapshot

Palworld 1.0 was announced at Summer Game Fest and went live globally on July 10, 2026. Servers opened around 11:00 AM JST, a little earlier than the 12:30 PM time some sites listed. On console you will see update 1.100.427.

Price stayed at $29.99 on Steam, with a launch discount for new buyers. If you have not played since Feybreak or Sakurajima, this feels less like a content drop and more like the same island got a full reset.

New regions and exploration

Sunreach

Sunreach is a chain of floating islands east of Feybreak, built around a Paldium-powered civilization. You will find region-only ores like Soralite, new tower content, fishing spots, and Pals you cannot get on the main archipelago. Some nodes need upgraded mining gear, so bring a strong Mining Pal or a high-tier pickaxe before you treat Sunreach as a farm route.

World Tree

The World Tree has loomed over Palpagos since Early Access. Version 1.0 finally lets you climb it after clearing the tower bosses. This is where the story pays off and where Radiant Gems for Awakening come from. Treat it as endgame content, not a day-one sightseeing trip, unless you are already raid-ready.

Everything else on the map

Version 1.0 also adds Ancient Ruins (minigame rewards and schematics), Watchtowers (map reveal plus fast travel), seven small biome islands (volcano, desert, ruins), and new settlements with NPC side quests. Wildlife Sanctuaries were rebuilt so each location has its own layout, materials, and boss encounters. Defense drones patrol inside. You can sneak past them or fight through.

Pals: what actually changed

72 newcomers

The Paldex grows by 72 entries. Pocketpair counts 47 new species and 25 variants, spread across Sunreach, the World Tree, sanctuaries, and refreshed spawn tables. Predator Pals no longer sit at fixed map pins. They can show up rarely anywhere, which makes hunting feel less like a checklist and more like a lucky find.

Awakening

Awakening is the new long-term power spike. Gather Radiant Gems deep in the World Tree, then spend them to unlock hidden power on individual Pals. Think of it as a post-condensation build path for favorites you plan to keep through level 80 content.

Mutations and breeding cakes

Breeding now has a low chance to produce a Mutation: offspring with higher stats and a unique passive. Four new cakes push outcomes in different directions:

CakeWhat it does
Mushroom CakeSlightly better stat rolls on hatch
Vegetable CakeTwo eggs from one breed
Deluxe Vegetable CakeHigher mutation and stat growth odds
Special CakeBetter passive skill inheritance from parents

Breeding combos were reviewed to match the new level curve. If your old cheat-sheet paths feel wrong, rerun them in our Breeding Calculator. It includes 1.0 Pals.

Partner skills, passives, and work

Over 200 Partner Skills were reworked. Many buffs now apply when a Pal is in your party, not only while it is actively fighting beside you. That is a big shift for gatherers and exploration teams.

Work Suitability now runs to level 10. Each rank-up boosts one job type. Condensation is cheaper (max rank in 48 Pals instead of 116). Capture Bonus completes in 5 catches instead of 12.

Lifmunk Effigies are now Pal Effigies. Collect effigies tied to specific Pals to buff your own stats. Existing Lifmunk stacks carry over.

Combat, weapons, and traversal

Player combat feels faster in 1.0:

  • While aiming, dodge becomes a dash. You can attack mid-dash and reload without canceling it.
  • Up to six weapons with an Extra Weapon Holster craft.
  • 13 new weapons, including Soralite-tier SMGs, a laser sword, drone launcher, and beam weapons.
  • Wing Pack glider uses Wing Cells for Pal-free flight. Plasma Multicutter gathers while mounted.
  • 44 new accessories (party buffs, movement perks, etc.) plus Disposable Implants for stronger passives at the surgery table.

Progression and economy

  • Player level cap: 80 (was 65).
  • Capture rates and XP curves were softened. Lower-level Pals level faster.
  • Gold from chests roughly doubled to quadrupled. Shop and craft costs were rebalanced to match.
  • Accessories shift from random drops to schematic crafts found in ruins, rigs, and chests.
  • Ammo and arrow crafting yields increased across most types.
  • Pal Sphere recipe simplified (Paldium Fragment only). Ultimate Sphere metal cost halved.
  • Normal/Hard new worlds hatch eggs twice as fast.

Base life got as much attention as combat:

  • Wave-based raids replace the old system. Enemy types depend on biome, scale to base Pal levels, and defense turrets no longer burn ammo.
  • A raid negotiator NPC lets you pay gold to skip an incoming raid.
  • 18 visiting merchant types can appear based on base level.
  • Clinic / Ancient Clinic structures help SAN and illness. Higher monitoring stands reduce SAN drain.
  • Repair no longer needs kits. Handiwork Pals fix structures directly.
  • Fast travel from the map while inside base range. Chest naming, filters, and auto-deposit options also improved.

Dedicated servers gained optional voice chat, richer guild roles and permissions, Discord linking, and clearer structure ownership labels. Chat history expanded to 200 lines. Connection warnings show when latency spikes.

On the UX side: Palbox search, crafting filters, Paldeck filters, Expedition Power sorting, clearer Partner Skill numbers, status icons on HP bars, auto-run, and a broad visual pass on water, coastlines, lighting, and shadows in dungeons and boss arenas.
